Suspicious Minds is a game that originated in Familiar Game Jam back in 2014, in collaboration with a programmer. Since then, I've fallen in love with the concept and have made several prototypes with different designs based on this concept.

The concept in Suspicious Minds is playing around with suspicion and mind games. Most of the game takes place in the mind of the player: using good pacing and letting the player overthink stuff, the game is able to create a lot of tension and give life to a very absorbing atmosphere. To entertain and deceive the player, the game also features funny, over the top, dark humor sentences from the player character.
Since the original game, I've moved to a pixel art aesthetic to enhance the atmosphere with coarse, gritty graphics, sound and music. I've experimented with adding player movement, sending the 'enemies' or 'people' in waves, and different screen aspect ratios which have a big impact on the mechanics of this game.

I'm always planning to make a finished product but I only work on Suspicious Minds every once in a while and I still have some iteration to go through until I have a good core loop and balance some issues, the main one being how to punish the player for killing innocents and how to teach the game and ease players into it.
